This sweet lady has become one of my favorite people. Any time I get to sit down and have coffee with her, our time flies. I LOVE becoming friends with my clients. There are so many people I would never come into contact with if not for this amazing gig I call “work.” Y was a total nervous Nelly, but as soon as we met, we clicked. The rest is history. “A virgin boudoir lady I am no more – and I owe it all to Manda Koolis!!!! I want to thank Manda, of course, but I want to especially thank my husband who NEVER gave up on asking me EVERY year ( since we met – at age 28) I mean every year to have pics done for HIS CALENDAR – well I seemed to come up with every excuse in the book every holiday of why I couldn’t do it. Well – after several years passed , when I say several I mean like 15 years. Yes, YEARS – I decided to look into it while we were stationed here in Florida . I casually looked into it on fb and found quite a few. Messaged them all and from the first message Manda made a very good impression . Sent me a very thorough email with so much information – she seemed down to earth and even had a sense of humor, which is important to me. We booked a date to meet up so we could talk and she could show me some of her work and ask any more questions I may have. When I met her – it was like talking to a friend I have known for years – very easy , conversation flowed and I bombarded her with all kinds of questions. Which seemed to ease my nerves with every minute that went by. After our meet up. I talked to my husband that night and I decided to just do it – I booked it pretty quickly bc I knew I might change my mind if I had too much time (and I think she knew I might chicken out also). So – fast forward here I was – the day of my shoot – this 43 year old, mom of two young kiddos , exhausted military wife taking the plunge finally into this boudoir world. Having my hair and make up done was fantastic. Lord knows I don’t take care of myself that way so it was wonderful not having that to worry about it. All I had to do was show up with all my outfits. Some my hubby picked out- some I picked out and Manda and I went through them and she even helped me decide what would be best so that was fantastic. She gave her honest opinions which is so, so important to me!
Once we started my nerves were getting better and better. The time flew by. And by the time we finished I was driving home with a big smile and ready to do it all again. What!?!?? Yes, I would do it again! I was so proud of myself. The only regret I have is that I didn’t do this when I was younger. But never mind that. I did it – I did it!! And I hadn’t even seen my pics yet.
Well – Manda sent me three sneak peeks and I was sooooo nervous to open up that email from her. But I did and I was soooooooo thrilled. I didn’t look like a stranger – it was still me and I saw my personality thru them too. I was just so proud!! And so thankful and appreciative of Manda and her work !!
Truly if this old tomboy can do something like this, anyone can!!!!!!!
Now writing this makes me want to do it all over again – my husband would like that too. Ha!”
